Friday night

My Friday nights lately consist of my husband watching a movie while I turn to my sewing room and plug away at a project. Current project: Baby Quilt. FOR US!!!

We found out that we are having another girl come this Christmas. We already have a good name picked out, and the other day I picked out her fabrics for her quilt.

I am going to make a herringbone quilt in the pink and white, and back with the gorgeous printed fabric. Then the binding will be a navy blue. I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

I already started on my half squares.

And now to determine the size of the quilt. I want it smaller than a twin but bigger than a crib. So I will have to play with the squares and amounts to figure out a good size.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress!

Triangle Quilt Completed!

Well, my nephew came earlier than planned, so I had to hustle up and finish his quilt. Luke Steven was born August 1st, weighing 6lbs 4oz.

I finished up the quilt and wanted to share a few things on my inspirations, pattern used, and fabric!

Here is the finished product.

I used Hello Bear by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics. I purchased it from one of my favorite Etsy sellers, Fabric Shoppe, maybe because she is in Minnesota where I was born and raised, but mostly because she has awesome fabric!!!

I followed this pattern/QAL to make the quilt. I used the same ruler and everything. I highly recommend checking out the pattern and the blog!

Here are some more pictures of the quilt.

I never know what to do with the back of the quilt, so I used the left over fabric and just lined it up. It’s crooked, but I did that on purpose. I didn’t want to be a perfectionist (because I am not one) and felt like it was a little more me. I wish I had some more time to actually spend my time quilting it. I had some great ideas, but I went simple .

Hopefully the mom and baby will get to come home soon and enjoy the quilt. Looks like I should probably run it down the the post office!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Now the decision of what to start on next…
